Recommended Print Settings for Any STL - Derived From Mesh Geometry

You have the STL. The slicer still asks for layer height, wall count, infill, supports, and bed adhesion - and generic defaults ignore whether the part is a tiny detailed figurine or a large hollow shell. SliceFoundry's Print Settings Detector reads the mesh itself and returns recommended FDM settings with reasons grounded in measured geometry.

That means thin-wall regions push finer layers and more perimeters, large bulky volumes can use draft layers and lighter fill, and steep overhang fractions decide whether supports are suggested at all.

  1. Upload the STL you plan to slice.
  2. Copy the suggested values into Cura, OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, or Flash Studio.
  3. Preview the slice - adjust only what your printer or filament profile requires.
  4. Re-upload after a redesign to refresh settings from the new mesh.
